OVERVIEW

World Bank Group

The World Bank Group is one of the world’s leading development institutions, working with 189 countries to reduce poverty and promote sustainable economic growth. Through its member organizations, including IFC and MIGA, it provides financing, risk guarantees, policy advice, and research to help governments strengthen infrastructure, institutions, and opportunity worldwide.

As AI rapidly reshapes economies and public services, the World Bank Group is advancing AI both as a development priority and as an internal capability. By embedding AI into its research, data systems, and operational workflows, the organization is strengthening evidence-based decision-making while building the expertise required to support responsible AI adoption globally.

World Bank Group
The World Bank Group was scaling AI use across its global operations and needed to equip senior leaders, managers, and functional teams to apply AI to everyday work, with a clear view of where it adds most value and where to manage risk.
The problem

The World Bank Group needed to rapidly build confidence among senior leaders, managers, and functional teams in using AI for everyday tasks, while also providing clear guidance on where AI could add the most value within existing workflows.

At the same time, they needed to strengthen practical capability in internally approved AI tools so employees could use AI to reduce workload and improve efficiency, while maintaining appropriate risk awareness.

Edifai delivered over 20 tailored half-day and full-day workshops across the organization, covering L&D, finance, legal, and portfolio management. Each session, hosted virtually and in-person, was designed for immediate, practical application.
The approach

The World Bank Group needed a training partner who could operate at the pace and scale of a complex global institution, designing sessions that would resonate with highly experienced professionals across very different functions and seniority levels.

Edifai worked closely with the World Bank Group to understand the tools already in use, the workflows that mattered most, and the varying levels of AI familiarity across teams. This informed a programme architecture that could flex across functions while maintaining a consistent standard of practical, applicable learning.
