OVERVIEW

Global Conservation

A global environmental non-profit, eager to be at the forefront of AI adoption, sought to empower their communication teams with AI skills to:

  • Enhance productivity and alleviate busy workloads.
  • Maintain global team alignment on AI knowledge.
  • Alleviate employee concerns over AI adoption.
Global Conservation
A global environmental non-profit set out to equip over 200 dispersed communications professionals with AI skills, align global teams on a common foundation, and address concerns about AI adoption across roles and regions.
The problem

The large conservancy group needed a scalable solution to develop AI skills that allowed dispersed communications teams to maintain high productivity but reduce workload. They needed to:

  • Provide relevant and consistent AI skills to over 200 communication professionals.
  • Maintain engagement in a virtual learning environment by adapting content to suit various roles and regions.
  • Reduce time spent on menial tasks, ensuring participants could apply their new skills to daily work immediately.
  • Reduce resistance to AI adoption. Concerns over relevance and complexity required overcoming barriers to learning.
A series of half-day virtual workshops featuring interactive peer-learning exercises, real-world case simulations, and frameworks for applying AI to communications tasks. Follow-up eLearning modules and post-training support reinforced the skills.
The approach

Working together, we developed and delivered a series of half-day virtual workshops that included:

  • Interactive peer-learning exercises and real-world case simulations for participants to practice and exchange insights on best practices.
  • Follow-up eLearning modules designed to reinforce learning and encourage ongoing skill development.
  • Post-training support to encourage ongoing AI adoption and innovation within their teams.
  • Actionable frameworks and strategies for team implementation and use of AI tools in communications-related tasks.

The solution

A practical AI enablement workshop designed to help Global Conservation apply AI tools confidently within real conservation workflows.

Their communications team transformed efficiency and AI adoption as a result of the program. The impact has been immense, with a fundamental shift in the way they work.

  • Attendees better understood how AI accelerates comms tasks, including content creation, campaign measurement and persona development.
  • Despite initial resistance, graduates are now AI advocates, leading the way in AI adoption across the company.
  • The organization intends to expand AI training to more teams and regions.
